Japanese astrophysicists have registered radiation from a new candidate in the middle black hole of the Milky Way. The study is published in the journal Nature Astronomy.

The discovered black hole is a hundred times heavier than the Sun and is located in a molecular gas cloud at a distance of 60 parsecs from the center of the Milky Way.

Astrophysics with the help of the observatory ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter Array) registered radiation at frequencies of 265.9 and 230.5 gigahertz.

Computer simulation, conducted by specialists, showed that the dynamics of gas is explained by the presence in the cloud of a black hole of medium mass.

Black holes of medium mass occupy an intermediate position between gravitational objects of stellar masses and supermassive black holes. Currently, only a few candidates for similar facilities have been found.

In the future, the authors plan to study this object in more detail, as well as to find new candidates for black holes of medium weight, the newspaper "Segodnya".
