According to the words of Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, the last strongholds of Igilov remain, which have only one way to survive: surrender to the Iraqi army.

Operation on the liberation of the city began on August 20. As a result of fierce fighting, three districts were repulsed and the Iraqis controlled 70 percent of the city's territory.

As of today, the city has been completely cleared of terrorists.

Recall that before the outbreak of the civil war in Syria, the city was inhabited by up to 200,000 residents, mostly from Shiite Turkmenistan. The military conflict has lasted for seven years already.

The government of President Assad is opposed by various forces of the opposition and the Islamic state.

As reported in the "URA-Inform", recently an Islamic militant was detained during the antiterrorist operation in Istanbul.
