On the eve of the meeting of the trade union activists of the Sverdlovsk region with the provisional governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev, the parties signed another regional agreement on the minimum wage.

Today, the minimum wage in the Sverdlovsk region is 8,862 rubles and was established by the previous agreement in 2016. Meanwhile, as a whole across Russia МРОТ at a federal level yet does not exceed 7 800 rubles. As a result of the agreement signed yesterday between the Federation of Trade Unions of the Sverdlovsk region, the regional government and the employers' association, since October 1 of this year its amount will increase to 9,217 rubles for all categories of employees.

"According to statistics, about 10% of the working population wage is below the subsistence minimum," said the leader of Sverdlovsk trade unions Andrei Vetluzhskih. - And the unions insist that the minimum wage level with the subsistence level. The average salary in the region for 6 months is 34 531 rubles, in industry - 39 595 rubles. Trade-union experts, assessing the level of well-being of Russian workers, use the notion of "average salary", and "average person" wages - the median salary: 50% of people earn less than the median salary, 50%. According to the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia, in the country the real salary of the "average person" is not 41,640, but 26,544 rubles per month. And 50% of employees receive less than 26 544 rubles per month, and about 10% of employees are below the subsistence level (according to the results of the first quarter of 2017 - 10 701 rubles). The difference between the median and the average salary indicates that there is a differentiation in the wages of highly paid categories of workers and low-paid workers, it must be reduced. Wage growth in real terms is 2-3% higher than inflation. It's good. Last year, it grew by 1%. At the same time, we understand that in 2015 we lost about 10% in real wages. So, it is necessary to catch up with this and next year. This is our common task - power, business and trade unions ".

After the signing of the minimum wage agreement, Yevgeny Kuyvashev answered orally a number of questions of interest to the gathered pro-activists. Some of the questions that were submitted to the governor's administration on the eve of the meeting have already received written answers. Some of the questions that the trade unionists submitted in the scraps from the hall were taken by the governor himself with a promise to answer them. From the hall, questions were raised about the trade union asset concerning various topics from the improvement of households, health problems and sanatorium treatment of "pests" to the program of development of regional consumer cooperation and employment of workers released immediately at a number of enterprises in the region's electric power complex. Answering these questions, Evgeny Kuyvashev drew attention to the fact that joint efforts - both authorities and societies - are needed to solve them: for example, to create a quality living environment in yards one needs a common stance of the tenants of the house regarding the priority of a parking lot or a playground; For the employment of the released workers, it is necessary to interact with the regional employment center, the labor department and the desire of the workers themselves to undergo retraining or to upgrade their qualifications. "Only together we can solve the tasks set before us," the interim governor.

"For the breakthrough in the economy, the social health of work collectives is important, and the main doctor here, of course, is the trade union - metaphorically defined the significant role of the trade unions Eugene Kuyvashev.
