As the press service of the regional prosecutor's office informs, three employees of the police station of the Slobid police department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region are charged with extortion and receiving undue benefits. This is a 31-year-old senior police sergeant, a 38-year-old lieutenant colonel and a 41-year-old major.

They were detained on August 17 of this year. Attackers organized a scheme of systematic extortion and receipt of funds from foreigners and demanded from Turkish citizens who arrived as tourists, funds for unimpeded crossing of the border and stay on the territory of Ukraine. In case of non-payment, promised "problems" in the form of in-depth and long-term inspections.

According to preliminary data, according to this scheme, law enforcement officers worked more than half a year. Police conducted searches at the place of work and residence of the defendants of the case and seized about five million hryvnia from them.
