On Saturday morning, the federal authorities of the border guards detained seven Mexicans and 23 Chinese nationals.

The US border services discovered an underground passage to the city of Otaya Massa. It is not known how many people were in the tunnel before being detained. Many rushed back to the tunnel to see law enforcement officers.

Some of the illegal immigrants were sent for questioning to the police department in Chula Vista.

The police argue that this tunnel may be part of a well-branched network of underground passages to the US. Illegal crossing of borders with the USA in the Mexican criminal code is punishable by a significant deprivation of liberty.
