Bacterial flora of your intestines can be a predetermining factor of your fullness or thinness. Scientists from the United States have determined that the levels of 2 main beneficial types of intestinal bacteria make a person thick or thin. This hypothesis was also tested in mice.

This research reveals the tendency of every person to thinness or completeness. Understanding the energy metabolism and participation in this intestinal microflora is the key to combating innate tendencies in weight fluctuations, says study leader Jeffrey Gordon from the Washington University School of Medicine,.

The main microorganisms responsible for the formation of obesity were the bacteroides. Their number was the lowest in the intestines of fat people, while with a low-calorie diet and weight loss, their amount increased dramatically in proportion to the lost kilograms.

However, there is no precise explanation of such relationships and the issue should be subjected to further and deeper consideration, say the researchers.

The results obtained can form the basis of a truly revolutionary discovery: the method of controlling weight by changing the quantitative ratio of the intestinal microflora.
