Speeches at the World Student Games in Taipei brought athletes from the Sverdlovsk region four medals.

First the awards were won by the swimmers Valery Salamatina (gold in the relay 4 to 200 meters freestyle) and Polina Lapshina (silver in the relay 4 to 100 freestyle). Their medal relay was picked up by Natalia Golomidova, who won bronze in the judo championship, and weightlifter Yegor Klimonov, who set an absolute record for all Universiade games. In a snatch he recorded 168 kilograms, and in a jerk - 215 kilograms.

Note that on the World Student Games three more Ural sportsmen are performing: Vildan Gadiev (table tennis), Ilya Aginskikh (basketball) and Anna Privalova (scooter-sport). Universiade takes place in the Taiwanese city of Taipei from 19 to 30 August.
