Russia prepares sanctions against the United States of America in response to the expansion of their anti-Russian sanctions. This is stated in the statement of Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, published on the website of the department.

According to the official, Washington "stepped on the same rake", when on August 22 it decided to expand the anti-Russian sanctions lists "on the North Korean plot". He believes that these sanctions continue the trend for the breakdown of bilateral relations, set by Barack Obama.

"We begin to work out the inevitable retaliatory measures in this situation," Ryabkov said in a statement. At the same time, the diplomat notes that Moscow does not lose hope for the voice of reason, and the US will stop the unwinding of the "sanction spiral".

Recall, the US Ministry of Finance on Tuesday published expanded sanctions lists for the DPRK. They included four Russians: the general director of "Gefest" Ruben Kirakosyan, Andrei Serbin, Mikhail Pisklin, as well as the executive director of the Velmur Management company registered in Singapore, Irina Hewish. The company Gefest also came under restrictions. The list also includes several Chinese companies. In the CPR, the US decision was called a mistake and urged to immediately fix it.
