183 sportsmen from Kharkov, Vinnytsia, Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Mykolayiv, Odessa and Cherkasy regions took part in the competitions, as well as guests from Azerbaijan and Israel.

The cup was conducted in three age groups: 2000-2001 of birth, 2002-2004 of birth, 2005 of birth and younger. The hosts of the tournament - young Kharkov badminton players - won in almost all categories, having won 14 gold medals out of 15 possible, as well as 9 silver and 5 bronze medals.

Three times on the highest step of the podium in the older age group rose Valery Rudakova. Kharkov won in the individual category, along with another Kharkovite Anastasia Prozorova - in the women's steam room and together with the Kharkovite Ivan Medinsky - in a mixed category.

In the middle age group, three gold awards were won by Maria Stolyarenko. She became the winner in the individual category, along with the Kharkov woman Varvara Frolova - in the women's steam room and together with the Kharkovite Evgeny Kobzar - in a mixed steam room.

In the younger age group, three victories were marked by Eugene Stolovoy. He won in the individual category, together with the Kharkov-based Alexei Titov got "gold" in the men's doubles and together with Anna Kovalenko from Nikolaev won in the mixed pair category.

Also gold medals were won: Ivan Medinsky (individual category 2000-2001 g. ), Mikhail Makhnovsky and Gleb Beketov (male men's category 2000-2001 g. ), Evgeny Kobzar and Dniproinist Andrey Don (male male category 2002-2004 year). Two more gold medals were in the account of Eugenia Cantemir, who in the younger group won in the individual category and together with the Kharkov woman Alexandra Kiseleva - in the women's paired.

The only category where the Kharkov badminton players failed to win was the men's individual in the middle age group. Gold medal went to Igor Kalinichenko from Nikolaev.

In the Department of Youth and Sports, HOGA note that at the end of the youth tournament in Kharkov, the traditional Badminton Tournament for adults "Independence Cup", which will be held at the School of Higher Sportsmanship from 21 to 24 August.
