Researchers from the US came to the conclusion that tea can be a reliable preventative against skin cancer. They came to this conclusion when they compared the lifestyle and habits of 1,400 people who had skin cancer and 700 healthy volunteers aged 25 to 74 years.

According to scientists who published the results of their work in the form of a report published in the European Journal of Cancer Prevention, components of conventional tea can become a reliable means of preventing cancer.

In the study, participants were interviewed about the diet, habits and drinking habits, among which were both green and black teas.

Both types of tea are very rich in antioxidants, which can prevent the formation of cancer cells.

People who regularly drank tea had a lower risk of the disease than those who did not drink tea. Those who drank two cups of tea a day, reduced their risk of skin cancer by 65%. Slice of lemon in tea further enhanced the protective properties of tea.

Nevertheless, despite the results, skin cancer specialist Elisson Ross says that the data are interesting, but can not claim a scientific justification for the benefits of tea. Much more effective, in his view, reduction of sun exposure and the use of protective creams.
