The time when a woman has the first menstruation may be a good indicator, whether her children will be at risk of obesity.

As shown by a study of 6,000 children, those born of mothers whose puberty started early grew faster and more often had problems with excess weight.

These data will help to outline the range of children who have an increased risk of obesity.

As is known, the age of the onset of menarche in girls is much inherited, and women who have a monthly onset earlier have a higher risk of developing obesity further in life.

Studies show that mothers who had menstruation before the age of 11 years were five times more likely to develop obesity than those whose first months began at the age of after 15 years.

Children from such mothers, by the age of 9 years, had higher growth and weighed more, the girls ripened earlier and, like their mothers, were more prone to the onset of menstruation earlier than 11 years.

On a more detailed examination, it turned out that the age at onset of menses in the mother correlated directly with the weight of a child under two years of age.

Children grew faster, but growth stopped earlier and weight gain began. This "scheme of growth" scientists recognized the basis for the development of obesity, which became a real problem of modern society.

The revealed regularity is genetically incorporated and has a connection with the increased appetite of the child, because of what it is gaining weight faster.
