On Friday, August 4, the Election Commission of the Sverdlovsk Region completed registration of candidates for the post of governor. Six people will compete for the seat of the head of the region.
The Oblizbirkom refused to register a lawyer Ivan Volkov, a candidate from the Russian all-union union headed by the disgraced ex-deputy Yevgeny Artyukh. The candidate submitted empty subscription lists to the commission, in which signatures of municipal deputies were to be signed. Volkov explained this by protesting against the municipal filter, which he considers unconstitutional.
Recall, on Friday, July 28 electoral committee registered the first two candidates - Dmitry Sergin (RPP) and Igor Toroshina (LDPR). On Monday, August 31, candidates' licenses were received by Alexei Parfenov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation) and Dmitry Ionin (SR). On Wednesday, August 2, the official representative of the Green Party Konstantin Kiselev. And on the eve of the morning the certificate was received by the governor-general Evgeny Kuyvashev.
Elections of the governor of the Sverdlovsk region will be held on September 10, 2017. Since August, 12th all candidates can begin paid propaganda.
