In the upcoming update for the Photos application in Windows 10, a search for images based on artificial intelligence will appear. The program will learn how to classify images so that they can be searched for by word-identifiers - as in "Google Photos".
Windows Central found that in the latest insider assembly of Windows 10 in the "Photos" appeared a search string. In it you can enter words like "flower" and "bottle of wine". A cloud algorithm for recognizing images sorts photos into collections and finds those that fit the query.
When you first use the updated application, you will have to wait until the program has indexed all the images - each takes about a second. This data is stored on the device, so the next time the search and sorting of pictures occur quickly.
Like "Google Photos", "Photos" from Microsoft themselves organize pictures in thematic albums. Search on the basis of the AI ??shows the albums when entering the relevant requests - for example, "cats".
The feature will be indispensable for many users of OneDrive or Office 365, which can store in the cloud to a terabyte of images. Self-sorting such a huge number of pictures is difficult, but the artificial intelligence will cope with this without problems.
The new application is in the early testing phase. To all users, it is likely to become available with the release of a major autumn update for Windows 10.
