Acceptance of applications will be held from 1 to 15 August. Recall that Ukraine has the right to apply for participation in the category "Best film in a foreign language".

The film-nominee must meet the following criteria:.

VV - It should be a full-length feature film, documentary or animated film (at least 40 minutes), filmed outside the United States of America.

- The film should be released in commercial rental from October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017 and continue at the box office for at least 7 consecutive days.

- Prior to the release of a movie in theaters, it is prohibited to broadcast a film-nominee on television or on the Internet, as well as the release of the film on DVD, but the previous participation in film festivals is allowed.

From 16 to 28 the number of the special committee will review the selected films, and on August 29 they will officially announce the film-representative for the Oscar nomination from Ukraine.
