According to preliminary information, the configuration of the Kirin 970 provides for the presence of eight cores, grouped into two clusters. These quartets are ARM Cortex-A73 and ARM Cortex-A53. Moreover, there is information that instead of ARM Cortex-A73, the latest ARM Cortex-A75 cores can be used, providing 22% higher performance. The maximum clock speed will be up to 3.0 GHz.

The processor, according to rumors, will use a powerful graphics accelerator Heimdallr MP with a dozen cores. Finally, it speaks of the Cat modem. 12 LTE, which will provide data download speed in mobile networks of the fourth generation up to 600 Mbit / s.
