The head of Ukrtransbezopasnosti in the Odessa region Nikolai Chekal was dismissed right after the corruption scandal with the outbreak of defective ships.

The head of the regional "Ukraatransbezopasnosti" Nikolai Chekal was immediately dismissed after the detention of his subordinate Sergei Lichikaki. The latter required the agent of one of the ships that came to the port, one and a half thousand dollars for the exit of the defective ship in the sea.

The agent collected money and brought a bribe to the official. At this point, the extortionist detained the SBU.

The decision was made to dismiss the head of Ukrtrans-security in the Odessa region for improper anti-corruption work. The corresponding package of documents I sent to the Ministry of Infrastructure for obtaining confirmation of dismissal, - Mikhail Nonyak summed up.

At the moment, the issue of notifying of suspicion and removal of the employee of Ukrtrans-safety from his position.

Criminal proceedings were opened on h. 3 items. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - obtaining undue benefits, combined with extortion. The suspect faces up to 12 years in prison.
