The Asian Football Confederation said on its official website that it will allow Qatar to play in the qualifying tournament for the 2022 home world championship.

Note that the starting qualifying matches for the World Cup-2022 will be combined with the qualifying games of the Asian Cup-2023.

If the national team does not get into the top 12 on the basis of the first two rounds of selection, Qatar will continue to play in the selection for the Asian Cup.

But if Qatar gets into the top 12 Asian Cup selection teams, the team with the permission of FIFA will be able to perform in the final round of selection for the World Cup 2022. Otherwise, the place of Qatar will be taken by the best team, who could not make it to the final qualifying round.

Qatar is the host country of the WC-2022 and must automatically participate in the tournament. The World Cup in Qatar will be held from November 21 to December 18, 2022.

Earlier, six countries sent a collective letter to FIFA requesting the transfer of FM-2022 from Qatar.
