Erdogan announced the signing of an agreement with the Russian Federation on the supply of S-400

The Haber 7 TV channel reports that Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan announced signing of certain documents by Ankara and Moscow within the framework of the agreement on the purchase of Russian S-400 complexes.

Erdogan said: "We took steps on this topic with the Russian Federation. Signatures have been put, and I hope we will see S-400 rockets in our country. We will also request the joint production of these systems ".

The Turkish president also said that "for years Turkey could not get from the US what it wanted" in matters of the purchase of anti-aircraft missile systems, and "had to conduct searches". He said: "And this [agreement on the S-400] is the fruit of the search data. Greece, a member of NATO, has been using the S-300 for years. And what are they [the US] worried about? ".

As previously reported, the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Joseph Dunford, indicated that Washington would be alarmed by the purchase of Ankara from Moscow by the S-400 systems. Erdogan then said he does not understand why the US is concerned about the possible purchase of the Russian S-400. He pointed out that each country has the right to take certain measures to ensure its own security.

At the same time, Vladimir Kozhin, the presidential aide on military-technical cooperation, said that the contract for the delivery of the S-400 to Turkey was agreed upon. The fact that Ankara and Moscow negotiations on the purchase of S-400 reached the final stage were announced earlier and Turkish officials.
