Sverdlovsk police summed up their work for the first half of this year. The report on the state of affairs in the region was made by the head of the regional headquarter, General Mikhail Borodin.
He noted that the work of law enforcement agencies in the reporting period was held in a difficult socio-political environment. The public activity of the population, as well as the scale of the activities carried out, significantly increased. The number of participants increased by an average of two and a half times, which required the maximum concentration of forces and means.
"Only during the May holidays, more than a third of the entire Sverdlovsk garrison of the police was used daily to ensure public order. In June and July passed a series of international events, which had significance for the state in economic and scientific fields. The safety of citizens during the international industrial exhibition INNOPROM and the international conference on fast neutron reactors is ensured, "said Mikhail Borodin.
The dynamics of the decrease in the number of registered crimes, which has taken shape over the past 11 years, is also observed this year (-17.2%; 26. 659).
Today, the crime rate in the Sverdlovsk region is one of the lowest among the large constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Of the total number of recorded crimes, significantly decreased by 11%. Almost 20% less crimes committed in a state of intoxication. The number of crimes committed by minors decreased by 30%. At 7.8%, the number of crimes committed by foreign nationals decreased.
In addition, according to the official spokesman of the police chief Valeri Gorelykh, the Central Ural detectives managed to improve the detection of a number of criminal formations. For example, the number of drug crimes uncovered increased by 4% and by 12% the number of persons brought to criminal responsibility for their commission.
It is especially important that the police succeeded in stopping the spread of over 44 kg of drugs in the streets of cities (+ 108.8%), stopping the activity of 11 online stores, two organized criminal communities, which included 19 active participants.
