This is reported by the British edition of The Times.

It is noted that Russian hackers have attacked power networks to penetrate the national network management system in parts of the UK.

At the same time, intruders are planning to infiltrate the energy sector of the Republic of Ireland, which can give them the opportunity to influence the operation of part of the network in Northern Ireland.

At present there are no signs of disturbances in the operation of power networks. However, it is reported that hackers could steal data and passwords for access to UK energy security systems.

Now the Irish National Center for Cybersecurity is studying this problem.

In turn, experts believe that Ireland is used as a testing ground for cyberwar Russia and, perhaps, one of several EU countries.

At the same time, media representatives noted that they used tactics similar to the attack against US power companies against Irish computer systems.

Recall, as previously reported, "URA-Inform", Ukrainians were warned about a new "legend" of telephone scammers. Thus, the perpetrators decided to use the recent cyber attack and began to call allegedly on behalf of bank employees. They tell people that they have lost their bases and are required to provide their personal data so that the bases can be restored.
