The terrorist organization Hamas called for strengthening the armed struggle for Muslim shrines in Jerusalem in connection with the decision of the Israeli authorities to close access of Muslims to the mosque of the Temple Mount after Friday's terrorist attack near the Lion Gate. This is reported 9 channel.

Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barkhum called Israel's decision "the continuation of a religious war against the Palestinian people, against our land and shrines".

"This is an unprecedented aggression directed against Arabs and Muslims in Jerusalem," said Fawzi.

The decision to close Muslim access to the Temple Mount was made by the Israeli authorities on July 14 in response to the terrorist attack on policemen at the Lions' Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem.

As a result of this terrorist attack, two Druze police officers were killed: a 30-year-old senior sergeant of MAGAV (frontier guards) Hail Sataui from the village of Mrar and 22-year-old senior sergeant Kamil Shanan from Hurfeysh village.
