Three paintings from the Louvre spoiled a shower

On the official website of the museum appeared a statement about the damage of paintings. The water spoiled the picture of Jean-Francois de Troyes "Triumph of Mordecai", as well as two paintings by Nicolas Poussin from the series "Seasons": "Spring" and "Autumn".

July 9-10 in Paris, a record showers. On July 9, an hourly rainfall fell in one hour. To preserve the exhibits, the Louvre was forced to close part of the halls for visitors, as well as evacuate some of the exhibits.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, because of the flood in Paris will close the Louvre.
