RIA Novosti informs that the Presnensky Court of Moscow sentenced businessman Sergei Polonsky to five years in prison for stealing 2.6 billion rubles from co-investors, but immediately released him from punishment because of the expiry of the statute of limitations.

As previously reported, the prosecutor asked the court to plant businessman Polonsky for 8 years. In addition, the public prosecutor requested a fine of 900 thousand rubles for the defendant.

Recall, Sergei Polonsky long hiding from justice abroad. According to the investigation, in this fraud also participated former members of the board of directors of the corporation Alexei Adikayev, Dmitry Lutsenko and Maxim Temnikov.
