The initiative proposed by the National Security and Defense Council for EU citizens and countries that have biometric passports on the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization will not create problems. This opinion was expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin.

According to him, we have a visa-free regime, which works for biometric passports. We by definition have no problems not only with the European Union, but also with other countries that have biometric passports according to ICAO standards.

Thus, for the EU, this decision will not actually have any practical practical consequences, "explained the head of the Ukrainian diplomatic department, adding that the relevant decision will be taken as soon as the technical work related to the biometric data register is completed.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, on Monday the NSDC adopted a decision to introduce a new procedure for crossing the border of Ukraine on biometric passports from January 1, 2018.
