What is a QR code? They probably saw everything, but they do not know much. QR-code - a square picture in which information is encoded. It can be text, link, coordinates, business card and more.

They were invented in Japan, where they got huge popularity, but they did not find the proper glory in our country.

And very much in vain.

Why will QR codes find a new life?.

In iOS 11, the QR code scanner became part of the system. If you point the camera at the desired box, then immediately appears a notification suggesting something to do. And only thanks to Apple it will become popular everywhere, not just in Japan.

Previously, to scan the code, it was necessary to download a third-party application, and now it does not need to be done. Given that most users on smartphones do not have any applications at all (yes, statistics say exactly that), then this will be a small discovery for them.

What works now and why did not you do it before?.

We point the camera from iOS 11 to the code of the router, and the smartphone immediately suggests connecting to the Wi-Fi network without entering a password. Conveniently? Highly! In the same way, new HomeKit devices are also connected.

Scan a business card where there is contact information, and the iPhone suggests creating a new contact.

When scanning the code with the location of the map, immediately show this place.

The data of the calendar, mail, messages, phone and sites immediately open in the right applications.

Life will become easier In the near future we will not see any big changes, but after a while we will not notice how to guide the camera and scan a new code. In the smartphone, in the gallery, you can store a couple of important QR-codes, which at the right time to give to friends or colleagues (password from Wi-Fi, your mail and phone).
