Sevilla has announced an agreement with Aston Villa on the transfer of left-back defender Jordan Amavi.

After passing the medical examination, the Frenchman must sign a five-year contract with Sevilla. Clubs keep secret the transfer amount, but Marca writes that the Nervionians will pay a 23-year-old defender nine million euros.

Amavi moved to Aston Villa in the summer of 2015 from Nice, but in November of the same year he suffered a serious knee injury, because of which he missed the rest of the season. In December 2016, Aston Villa refused to sell the Frenchman to China for 28 million euros.

Last season, Amavi held for Aston Villa 34 matches in the Championship, which marked one productive transfer.
