Michurin called nuts "the bread of the future". Nuts and seeds are extremely rich in fats, proteins, mineral salts, vitamins, and some carbohydrates. By caloric content they occupy one of the first places among the fruits.
The most common and favorite seeds we have are sunflower seeds and pumpkins. With strong toasting, they lose their useful properties, so they need only to dry, calcine. Many nutritionists classify sunflower seeds as a full-fledged protein food and therefore consider them an evening meal. To an even greater extent, all that has been said applies to nuts. However, it must be remembered that over 100 grams of nuts in one reception the organism does not absorb, and this quantity satisfies its daily need for a high-grade protein.
The protein content in walnuts is 15.6%, in hazelnuts - 19.9%, in almonds even more - 22.3%, that is more than in meat. The amount of fat in nuts varies from 54.5% in almonds to 65.2% in walnuts. As for vitamins, nuts are a good source of vitamin E and B vitamins, as well as nut kernels - a rich source of mineral salts. Contained in them copper, zinc, iodine, selenium, and molybdenum activate the body's immune forces, increase resistance to radiation, support the functions of the thyroid and thymus gland, stimulate the activity of the sex glands and protect our brain.
It is recommended to eat 5-6 walnuts or within 30g of other nuts.
Nuts before consumption are always recommended to be filled with water together with the shell for at least several hours. In this case, even shriveled overdried kernels can become full if the nuts were sufficiently ripe.
