CEC of Russia did not allow Navalny to run for presidency

Bulk can not run for presidency because of outstanding conviction. This is stated in the official statement of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation. Recall Navalny was sentenced to five years in prison on probation in the case of "Kirovless" with a delay in the execution of the sentence for a year and 5 months. According to the law, to be elected in this case a person has the right after 10 years from the date of the removal or repayment of a conviction for the commission of serious crimes, 15 years for the commission of particularly serious crimes, the CEC said in a statement. The document also noted that the creation of "headquarters" for the support of Navalny is outside the framework of the official election campaign, since it is not currently being conducted, and the official nomination of candidates for the presidency in the 2018 elections will be possible only starting in December 2017. Earlier, the head of the CEC of Russia Ella Pamfilova also stated that Navalny can not be a candidate for the presidency.
