In Saudi Arabia on Friday, June 23, prevented the attack of terrorists on the main shrine of Muslims around the world - the Protected Mosque in Mecca. This is reported by the television channel Al Arabiya. As the official representative of the Kingdom of the Ministry of Interior Mansour al-Turki, the terrorists created a few cells, two of which were based in Mecca, another - in Jeddah. Their target was the criminals elected pilgrims. In the course of the special operation, one of the militants opened fire on the siloviki, after which he blew himself up. As a result, six civilians and five law enforcement officers were wounded. Arrested five people, among them there is a woman. Their belonging to a terrorist organization is not reported. The investigation is under way. On June 21, Islamic state militants blew up the An-Nuri mosque in Iraq's Mosul. In July 2014, the terrorist leader of the IG Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi delivered a speech in which he proclaimed the creation of the Caliphate and declared himself its head. Later, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said that undermining this mosque is a recognition of the defeat of militants. On July 4, 2016, a suicide bomber blew himself up near the Prophet's Mosque in the Muslim holy city of Medina in the west of Saudi Arabia, then four officers of the security forces were killed.
