President of the United States Donald Trump for a year extended sanctions against North Korea.

This was reported by the press service of the White House.

It is about preserving restrictive measures that were introduced as early as 2008. In 2010, 2011, 2015 and 2016 sanctions were extended and expanded.

The validity of the sanctions was to expire on June 26, 2017, but Trump decided to extend them for another year.

The White House noted that the actions and policies of the DPRK government, including their desire for nuclear and missile programs, destabilize the Korean peninsula and endanger the armed forces of the United States and its allies.

In addition, the provocative, destabilizing and repressive actions of North Korea continue to constitute an extreme threat to the national security, foreign policy and economy of the United States.

As reported by the "Observer", earlier the DPRK held several launches of cruise anti-ship missiles from the eastern coast of the country.
