Moscow's failure to comply with Minsk agreements will lead to further deterioration of relations between the European Union and Russia.

French Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian said this during his visit to Russia, Radio Liberty reports..

French Foreign Minister stressed that his country remains a supporter of the settlement of the crisis in eastern Ukraine.

He stressed that France and Germany, within the framework of the "Norman format" of the talks, are ready to continue their mediating role, so that the Minsk agreements were implemented as soon as possible.

"Because the longer we pull and do not act, the less contact lines remain and the longer the prospect of resolving this crisis. Therefore, the relations between the European Union and Russia are deteriorating, "said Le Drian.

Lavrov said at the same time that there is no alternative to "Minsk" for the Russian Federation, but the implementation of agreements depends primarily on Kiev.

Recall earlier it became known that the US is ready to support a new format for the Donbas as an alternative to the Minsk Agreements.
