President of the United States Donald Trump today will hold the first meeting of the American Technological Council, which brought together the most famous names of the Silicon Valley to improve the state use of technology, according to Fortune.

The council was created by Trump on May 1, and it is managed by the president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and former Microsoft CFO Chris Liddell.

It is reported that the first meeting of the American Technological Council should raise a wide range of issues, including the modernization of the government. According to the White House, the federal government spends more than $ 80 billion a year on information technology, which involves about 113 thousand IT professionals. But many information systems used by federal agencies are outdated and inefficient.

Also at the summit should discuss cybersecurity, the scope of the "Internet of things", the use of drones, fraudulent government spending and artificial intelligence.

It is possible that it is the council that will be able to alleviate the tension in the Silicon Valley caused by the US withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement and the determination of Trump to limit the issuance of visas to foreign IT professionals.

The Trump administration also hopes that the council will help the president fulfill his campaign promises to upgrade America's infrastructure.

The summit should be attended by all major players in the US IT sector, including Apple President Tim Cook, Sathya Nadella of Microsoft, Jeff Bezos of Amazon, Safru Katz of Oracle, Brian Krzhanich from Intel. At the same time, there will not be Elon Mask and Travis Kalanik and Mark Brenoff of Salesforce at the meeting.

It is expected that on June 22 representatives of various technology companies will gather in the White House to discuss innovations.
