At night in Odessa there was an explosion in the building of the former Rear Services Department of the Odessa Army Institute, in which they planned to deploy the headquarters of the Naval Forces of Ukraine.

As reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service in the Odessa region, at 1:08 the rescue service received a message that on the street Fontanskaya road there was a fire in a non-residential building. The first fire-rescue units arrived at the place of the call at 1:21 pm. By that time, the roof was burning in the buildings, attic spaces and the 3rd floor of the building. Approximate area of ??fire - 300 square meters.

During the fire extinguishing, there was an explosion of a gas cylinder that was in the building.

The fire at 2:44 localized and at 3:38 completely eliminated.

As a result of the fire, the roof of the building is damaged on fire with a total area of ??300 square meters. The cause of the fire is established. There are no dead or injured. To eliminate the fire, 14 units of equipment and 52 personnel were employed.

According to "Dumskaya", in July 2016 part of the building along the Fontanka road, 14 with an area of ??about 10 thousand square meters passed to the Ministry of Defense. The headquarters of the Naval Forces of Ukraine and the Naval Institute of the Odessa Maritime Academy. It was planned that the reconstruction works will cost more than 150 million hryvnia.
