Statement by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson about a possible alternative to the Minsk Agreements sounds encouraging, but no more.

This opinion was expressed in the commentary to the "Observer" by the ex-consul general of Ukraine in Edinburgh and Istanbul, the chairman of the board of the "Maidan of Foreign Affairs" foundation Bogdan Yaremenko.

"It seems to me that this is a person who has his own view of the conflict and ways to resolve it. Sounds encouraging, but what exactly does Tillerson mean, can only explain it, "- said Yaremenko.

According to him, one thing is clear - while the US administration has not clearly indicated how it sees the settlement of the conflict in the Donbass.

"We heard only standard mantras about the support of" Minsk ", - the diplomat summed up.

As reported by the "Observer", US Vice President Mike Pence said that the Minsk agreements are the most real way to peace.
