Espanyol said that he had fully redeemed the rights to striker Leo Baptistao from Atletico.
The contract with the Brazilian striker Leo Baptistao Espanol signed last summer, but half of the rights to the forward remained in the possession of Atletico. And now, as the club's official website reports, the 24-year-old football player is wholly owned by Parrots.
Mattresses purchased Baptistao from Rayo Vallecano back in June 2013, but the Brazilian played for Atletico five games. The Madrid club preferred to lease it (Betis, Rayo Vallecano, Villarreal), until finally sold to Espanyol in July 2016 for 3.5 million euros, while retaining half of the rights to the football player.
In the 2016/2017 season, Leo Baptistao, who signed a five-year contract with Espanyol last summer, spent 22 matches in the team in all the tournaments in which he scored 6 goals.
