"As of June 13, 2017 in Ukraine, 735 cases of measles have been registered, of which 536 cases are in children and adolescents. Over the same period last year, only 10 cases of measles were registered in the Lviv, Chernovtsy, Kiev, Cherkasy regions and Kiev. Diseases of measles in 2017 are registered in 15 regions. Most cases of measles in the Ivano-Frankivsk region (392) and Odessa (267), "the report says..

According to the Ministry of Health, in the Ternopil region, 19 cases of measles were registered in the Ternopil region, 11 in the Dnipropetrovsk region, 9 in the Vinnytsia region, 8 in the Chernivtsi district, 7 in the Chernovtsy district, 4 in the Transcarpathian region and 4 in Kiev, 3 in Khmelnitsky, 2 in Kirovograd.

Single cases of the disease are registered in Donetsk, Zhytomyr and Cherkasy regions.

"The increase in cases of measles is associated with low vaccination coverage of children and adults," the Ministry of Health.

Measles is an acute infectious viral disease.

Any person who does not have immunity can infect the measles. Symptoms of measles are high fever, runny nose, cough, rash, sometimes vomiting and diarrhea. It is often complicated by pneumonia and can cause brain damage.

Specific treatment of measles does not exist, but the disease can be prevented by vaccination.

According to the Ministry of Health, now in Ukraine, a combined vaccine is used to prevent measles, mumps and rubella produced by GSK, which is procured by UNICEF for budgetary funds.
