The weather does not stop surprising Ukrainians. In place of May, distinguished frosts and snow, unstable June came, which, judging by the forecasts for the coming days, is far from summer heat.

About when the seasonal heat comes to Ukraine and whether the prolonged cold weather in late spring or early summer weather anomaly, learned "Observer".

The situation with low temperatures in Ukraine, as well as neighboring countries, gave rise to rumors that this is "not for nothing". Some bright heads seriously discuss the testing of climate weapons. Others predict the beginning of a new ice age, indicating a decrease in solar activity.

In the Hydrometeorological Center of Ukraine in the whims of the weather do not see anything unusual.

"There were no significant changes in the monthly temperature distribution for May and June. As it was 50 years ago in these months, so approximately this has remained. At the same time, the temperature in July and August in the last decade has risen to 2 degrees, "said the head of the Hydrometeorological Center, Nikolai Kulbida. Thus, the chief weather forecaster of the country noted, the real heat should be expected in the second and third months of summer.

According to the head of the climatology department of the Central Geophysical Observatory Elena Donic, the average temperature in May in Kiev was within the climatic norm - 15.3 degrees Celsius, while the first decade of June is generally warmer than 1 degree.

Thus, experts believe, no matter how chilly the end of spring - the beginning of summer seemed, there is nothing abnormal in this.

About weather extremes In the 150-year history of climate observations in Ukraine, periods were much more abnormal. So, the coldest May was recorded in 1919, only 10.9 degrees Celsius (the norm is +14.7), and the hottest in the year 2013 is 18.5 degrees above zero. The coldest June was in 1933, when the average temperature did not rise above +15.7 (at a rate of +18.2). The hottest first month of summer was recorded in 1924 - 22.1 degrees Celsius.

At the same time, the coldest summer in the history of Russian climatology was recorded in 1976 +17.2 at a rate of +19, and the hottest in 2010 - 22.8 above zero.

Blow on the crop Who really is angry at the weather, so it's Ukrainian farmers. Due to the sharp drop in temperature to -5 in the air and on the ground on May 11, grapes and walnut were lost in a number of central and northern regions, stone fruit trees were seriously damaged, Nikolai Strizhak, general director of the Association of Farmers and Private Landowners of Ukraine, told the "Observer". In addition, he said, in the central and northern regions of the country, up to 70% of strawberries. In the part of the Kiev region, as well as in Sumy region and Chernihiv region, the sunflower was lost, as a result it had to be transplanted.

In a number of farms, it was also necessary to transplant maize, which continues to ache due to a sharp temperature drop during the day and at night. Bad business with wheat in Donetsk, Lugansk and Zaporozhye regions.

At the same time, hunger does not threaten Ukraine, even if the weather continues to be extremely unfavorable, the head of the Association.

"Even in the most lean years, we still could twice feed people, animals and birds. If the harvest is medium - three times, "- said Nikolai Strizhak.

However, the summer has just begun and who knows what pleasant weather surprises it will turn out, including for farmers.
