Leader of the national team of fencing on sabers Olga Harlan was left without a medal in the individual competitions of the European Championship, which started in Tbilisi.
Harlan confidently passed the qualification, having won all six meetings of the group stage.
In 1/16 finals, the Ukrainian easily coped with the Russian Valery Bolshakova, and in the 1/8 finals, Olga lost to the multiple prize-winner of the world championships and Europe Cecilia Berder from France-12: 15.
Other Ukrainian saber-players also did not make it past Harlan - Olga Zhovnir lost to Anne Marton from Hungary 7:15 in 1/16 finals, and Elena Prokuda and Julia Bakastova could not qualify.
Recall that after the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, where Harlan won two medals, she underwent surgery and recently returned to training.
