Bulgarian President Rumen Radev is ready to support the abolition of anti-Russian sanctions, but it can not independently initiate such a process. He stated this in an interview with the television channel bTV. "I will gladly support any act to abolish these sanctions, but let it be clear - alone the president can not initiate such an act," said Radev. He added that the mechanisms in the European Union are arranged in such a way that even one state can launch the process of lifting sanctions. Radev believes that "sooner or later" it will happen. A number of countries, including the United States and the European Union member states, imposed restrictive measures against Moscow in 2014, linking them with the annexation of the Crimea to Russia, and then - with the conflict in the southeast of Ukraine. They affect the financial, energy, and defense-industrial sectors of the Russian economy. Brussels also imposed sanctions against the Crimea, which are in force until June 23 of this year. In response, Moscow banned the importation of certain products from countries that joined the sanctions. The food embargo first of all touched the countries of the European Union.
