Judicial reform in Ukraine under the current procedure should be completed in three years.
This was announced by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko in an interview with Lb. Ua.
He stressed that the main problem is that there are almost no judges.
"If you go on the current procedure - three years (wait for the completion of judicial reform. - Red. But the problem is not only in good or bad judges, but also in the fact that there are practically none. In the central, for example - for our departments - the Pechersk court of the city of Kiev, five judges work on sanctions (meaning the choice of a preventive measure. - Red. ) And six for the merits of the case. This means a load of 400 to 500 cases per judge. Can you imagine? "- said Lutsenko.
He stressed that each work has certain stages.
"A child can be born on the third month - he will be unhealthy. Therefore, first the Supreme Court is being formed, and this process - as I understand it - will be completed sometime in August-September. These are thousands of candidates who have passed through the appropriate verification procedures for knowledge, on virtue and the like. This process will be completed by the end of this year, and in parallel with it it is impossible to conduct any other. First - the Supreme Court, next year - the Appeal, then - the district courts, "- explained Lutsenko.
As reported by the "Observer", within the framework of judicial reform, the Rada dismissed a number of judges.
