A 20-year-old Indian woman was eaten by a crocodile in the Indus River in front of her family when she took part in religious bathing. The tragedy occurred in the territory of the Chambal National Park in the state of Uttar Pradesh in the north of the country. A girl named Niraj came to the river together with other members of her family to bathe in the ritual. Associated with the sacred for the Hindus day of Ekadashi, reports the Times of India. When the crocodile grabbed the girl, her relatives tried to raise the alarm, but it was too late. At the moment, local authorities, together with police and divers, are searching for the body of Niraj.
