The residents of Rezh are preparing to present to the EMERCOM medal "For the salvation of the perishing on the waters". According to the EMERCOM of Russia in the Sverdlovsk region, on May 14, an employee of the Church of St. John the Forerunner Sergey Nikitin saved a sinking thirty-year-old man.

"On that day, as usual, Sergei Petrovich and his colleagues returned home from service. Crossing the bridge over the river Rezh, they heard a shout on the opposite shore and saw that a man had fallen into the water. Despite the fact that Sergei Nikitin does not swim well, he did not hesitate, rushed to the rescue, shouting to his colleagues that they would call an ambulance and the police, "the Emergency Situations Ministry.

The man descended from the bridge, went into the river, realized that the bottom was muddy and his feet were buried. He jumped out of the water to the shore and tore out a large branch with a root to drag the sinker who did not show signs of life, his clothes became wet, he began to sink under the water.

"By that time, the ambulance and police had already arrived, the man was provided with medical assistance," the Emergency Situations Ministry.

As it turned out, this is not the first time when Sergei Nikitin saves human life. Ten years ago he saved a man from a snowdrift.
