Criminals abducted from the church in the Italian city of Castelnuovo stored there fragments of the brain of a 19th-century priest and teacher, John Bosco, who was canonized in 1934. The theft of the Saint's brain, which was stored inside the Don Bosco basilica named in his honor in a glass box, was performed on June 2. Police fear that attackers can demand a ransom for it or even use the brain in satanic rituals, the Daily Mail reports.. Archbishop of Turin Cesare Nosilla has already appealed to the kidnappers with a call to return the kidnapped without any conditions. John Bosco was born near Turin in 1815. Throughout his life he took care of disadvantaged children and youth and was considered one of the most progressive educators of his time. In 1854, in order to help the youth, he founded the monastic community of St.. Francis of Salsk, also known as the Order of Salesians. By the time of Bosco's death in 1888, the institutions of the Salesian system had trained over one hundred thousand pupils in six countries - Italy, France, Argentina, Spain, Brazil and Chile.
