The press service of the head of the region early Monday, May 29, reported that in seven settlements of the Stavropol Territory mass evacuation of more than 40 thousand people began due to the threat of breakthrough of the dam at the Otkaznensky Reservoir.

As it became known, at a meeting of the regional commission for emergency situations on the eve of the governor Vladimir Vladimirov decided to withdraw residents of the Soviet and Budennovskiy districts of Stavropol.

Vladimirov said: "We overflew, analyzed the situation with the arrival of water in the Otkaznenskoye reservoir. The inflow of water does not fall. The dynamics show that by noon on May 29 the water level in the reservoir will reach maximum marks. This leads to the risk of its depressurization ".

It is noted that first of all the residents of the village of Otkaznoye were evacuated, which is in the immediate vicinity of the reservoir. Then, from 10 am people will be taken out of Zelenokumsk. From 12 on the schedule of the village of Nina, Starodub, Arkhangelsk, Orlovka, Pokoynoye.

It is reported that 100 temporary accommodation centers have already been prepared. People will be accommodated in 15 municipalities. In the evacuation will be involved about five thousand employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, servicemen of the armed forces and Rosgvardia, volunteers, including those arriving from other regions, and about 400 buses. And the entrance to the evacuated territory will be carried out only under the passport, accompanied by representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and law enforcement agencies.
