A representative of the company said that a major malfunction in electronic systems has led to very serious violations in air operations around the world.

The company apologized for what happened and stressed that soon the problem will be solved.

Passengers were advised not to travel to Heathrow and Gatwick until the scheduled time for the resumption of flights.

The terminals at the airports were filled with people.

Later, the head of British Airways, Alex Cruise, in his address stated that the computer system failed due to power supply problems.

He added that there is no evidence and reason to think that this was a cyber attack.
