Kharkov Regional Council asks to increase funding for institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine

The document notes that the National Medical Academy of Ukraine includes 36 state health institutions, including nine in Kharkiv. They employ more than 3,500 people, including nearly 800 scientists (including 480 doctors and candidates of science).

Heads of institutions argue that, among the problems with wages, "the moral climate is declining".

"When people do not see prospects, at least promises, that the situation will improve, some will go into commercial structures, medical institutions of a different level, trained, literate, knowledgeable people will leave," said the director of the Institute of Pathology of the Spine and Joints.
