Despite the fact with which pomp Samsung introduced the face recognition feature, most Galaxy S8 owners still prefer to use the fingerprint or iris scanner to unlock. This was shown by a survey conducted among SamMobile readers. Only 15% of the total number of respondents said they are trying to experiment with a new method of identification.

According to the results of the survey, the most popular technology for identifying the owner, available to users of the Galaxy S8 and S8 +, is the iris scanner. This method, which was voted by 40% of respondents, debuted last year at the same time as the release of Galaxy Note 7. Consumers are confident that the IRIS sensor is the most secure and intuitive device unlocking function.

38% of respondents note that the fingerprint scanner is chosen as a priority identification method because of its simplicity and high reliability. They are not confused by the awkward arrangement of the module, which increases the risk of confusing it with the main camera lens. Many of those who voted for fingerprinting also stated that the rest of the biometrics, including the iris scanner, applied incorrectly to them.

The rest of the respondents, in their own words, prefer not to trust the electronics either their own imprint or the image of the iris. For this reason, many of them unlock the smartphone with a graphic key, password or svaypa on the screen. 4, 3 and 1% of respondents voted for these methods. The reasons for this conservatism were told only by some respondents who believe in a government conspiracy.
