Kyodo reports, with reference to diplomatic sources, that the governments of Russia and Japan are working on a flight to the Southern Kuriles in mid-June this year.

According to the agency, 70 citizens of Japan who will visit the graves of their ancestors on the islands of Kunashir and Iturup.

"RT in Russian" specifies that for the flight will be rented a Russian airplane. The departure airport will be Nakashibetsu on the northern island of Hokkaido. Flight scheduled for June 18.

Recall, in late April this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe discussed joint economic activities in the Kuriles.
