Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Liliya Grinevich on Thursday, May 18, flew to Odessa to meet with local representatives of the education system and explain how it is necessary to implement reforms in the system of teaching students and students.

In today's plan, Lilia Grinevich: a meeting with teachers from rural schools in the Odessa region, a meeting with rectors of Odessa universities, a visit to the Richelieu Lyceum, ONU. Mechnikov and Pedagogical University. Ushinsky.

The minister said that now a large-scale reform of the school system of education is being implemented. From September 1, 2018, schools will switch to 12-year training, the system of specialization and distribution of study hours in the upper grades will be changed.

After the 9th grade, students will be able to choose a humanitarian or natural-technical profile, depending on which emphasis will be placed on the disciplines they are interested in, and other subjects will be formed together into integrated programs.

Children should receive more hours for the items they choose according to their profile and prepare for external independent testing. We proposed a curriculum in which 50% of subjects are compulsory, and 50% are optional. Of these subjects, that, by choice, schools can design their own curricula. For example, if you want to learn in depth physics, chemistry and biology, you can take extra hours from the humanitarian course. This is called integrated courses, in this case, for example, the hours of studying history are reduced, the courses History of Ukraine and World History are integrated into one course - History of Ukraine in the context of world history. This is a new course about the 20 and 21 century, - what exactly a modern person should know, - explained Grinevich.

Far from the best statistics on the surrender of UPE in the Odessa region, the Minister of Education considers the consequence of the fact that often (especially in rural schools) teachers are not enough, and one teacher should immediately lead 5 different subjects. The reform of integrated programs, according to Grinevich, can contribute to solving this problem.

In Ukrainian secondary schools, the education of children with disabilities will be introduced. To this end, the government has allocated about 500 million UAH, 50 of which are directed to the Odessa region, to re-equip schools for the convenience of students in wheelchairs.

In the higher school, the rating system began to operate, the purpose of which is to attract applicants to enter regional universities, and even to go to study in the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions controlled by Ukraine. Thus, if you enter the capital university, the coefficient of VNO will be 1, then when you submit documents to higher educational institutions in Odessa, Lviv, Dnipro or Kharkov, it will grow to 1. 1 or 1. 2, and when enrolling in universities in Donetsk and Lugansk region - 1.

As reported by USIonline. Com, Odessa schoolchildren will be transferred to electronic textbooks in autumn.
