Despite the desire of Ukraine, Washington is unlikely to join the talks on the Donbass in the "Norman" format.

This opinion was expressed in the commentary to the "Observer" by the director of the Institute of Political Analysis and International Studies, Sergei Tolstov.

"I do not really believe that Trump will take part in the Norman format, given that Russia is still struggling and is not going to some change in its position. France and Germany are also clearly not slopes to this. Frankly, I do not understand what interests the US administration would follow in order to take such a step. While the conflict in the Donbass is local and limited in territory by nature, I do not see a motivation that would lead to the fact that the US administration would like to join the Norman format, "said the internationalist.
